Top Podcasts for Young Women
March 20th, 2020 - By Genevieve
During this difficult time, with the COVID-19 spreading across the globe, I wanted to share some of my favorite podcasts. Like so many others, I am practicing social distancing and taking this opportunity to work on myself and consume new, inspiring content. These podcasts are perfect for young women who are looking for light hearted entertainment as well as motivational talks to kick them in the butt. I love listening to podcasts because they help distract me from the rest of the world and whatever stresses I have weighing on me. They’re perfect for when you’re doing your morning run, working on a creative project or simply doing your makeup. Enjoy XOXO
- Health + Fitness - Entrepreneurship -
This is one of those podcasts where you start listening to one, then find yourself in a rabbit hole, craving new episodes. I fell in love with Tori from her Youtube channel where her career started. She has an inspiring story and offers a different perspective about building your best life and becoming successful. I love listening to her advice about self love, time management and manifestation. Each episode is driven by her fiery personality, full of advice, life updates and inspiration. Beyond her podcast is a wonderful Facebook group, which acts as a incubator for like-minded women to network and share their stories. Personally, I am apart of the Manifest community and have loved the spread of positivity and brilliance that blesses my feed.
- Motivation - Entrepreneurship -
Rachel Hollis is a fireball, her podcast is a reflection of her bestselling books Girl, Wash Your Face and Girl, Stop Apologizing. She interviews influential entrepreneurs and shares her own experiences in order to reveal the secrets to success. If you’re at a point in your life where you know what you want to do, but you’re not quite sure how to get there, this is the podcast for you. She offers expertise for all walks of life; working mammas, business owners and aspiring dreamers are Rachel’s forte. She is a world-renowned motivation speaker, with the fire and experience to help you achieve your wildest dreams.
- Health - Motivation - Lifestyle -
As another best-selling author and lifestyle guru, Melissa offers expert advice on building your best life. She encourages her listeners to hone in on their talents and create a life that makes them feel inspired, motivated and happy. Her episodes are honest, straight forward and will get you to change your mindset for the better. I love listening to this podcast when I need honest advice on subjects ranging from manifesting success to birth control.
- Lifestyle - free-lancing - love -
Hosted by Katy Bellotte, this podcast gives a glimpse of life from the eyes of a twenty-some year old living in NYC. She discusses the hustle and bustle of a big city lifestyle and shares her advice on life, love, freelancing and self-development. Her voice is calming, informative and each episode she weaves in her love of history with short anecdotes about inspiring historical figures. Thick and Thin is great for young women who need a safe space to escape to, it helps bring a sense of connection and subtle enthusiasm.
- Travel - College - Gossip -
I originally discovered this podcast on my search for female-led travel podcasts. I’m always inspired by those who have cultivated lifestyles built around exploring the world. It is co-hosted by Danielle Carolan and Brooke Miccio, both lifestyle Youtubers who share their experiences through college, work and frequent adventures. If you’re a fan of the Bachelor, you’ll loved their episode breakdowns and gossip segments. This podcast makes you feel like you’re sitting down with your best gal pals, sipping some coffee and debriefing on everything love, productivity and life as full-time students and influencers. It manages to capture their fun and lighthearted personalities, while at the same time, reaches out to young women who need direction and encouragement in their personal lives.
- Lifestyle - Positivity -
Gretchen speaks light and positivity into each episode and reminds the whole world that despite disparities, life is full of beauty. I see her podcast as a breath of fresh air and love to listen when I am in need of some sunshine in my life. Each episode includes a segment where she shares things that she is happy about and encourages listeners to consider gratitude and a positive mindset. Recently, she’s had guests on her podcasts and their interviews often emulate a relaxing chat with a friend. If you’re interested in more of her content, she has a wonderful vlog-driven youtube channel that is definitely worth checking out.
- Health+fitness - Spirituality -
I fell in love with Kalyn’s Youtube channels before I had any idea she also had a podcast. Once I made the discovery, everything clicked into place. Kalyn discusses all things ranging from mental health to spirituality and does so via coffee-themed episodes. As a fellow coffee aficionado, I love that each topic is specifically linked to the specific brew she sips on. She has mentioned that her goal of the podcast is to make the listener feel as if they’re sitting down for a relaxing coffee chat right alongside her, and she effortlessly achieves just that. Each Wednesday, I find myself eagerly checking for a new episode and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
- Lifestyle Design - Personal Development -
Host, Aileen Xu, has coined the phrase “Life is an art. Make it your masterpiece” and weaves this mantra into every word that she speaks. She provides a unique and creative approach to living a life of positivity and fulfillment. Many episodes offer consul on topics such as personal development and lifestyle design; her expertise comes from her own life experiences as well as the experiences of countless professionals and lifestyle experts. Like many of the other podcasts listed, Aileen runs a successful youtube channel and with both platforms, teaches people how they can start viewing their life as art and themselves, as the artist.
There you have it! Some of my recent favorites as a young woman obsessed with self love and personal development. If you’re reading this article during a time of stress or anxiety, I hope that this can provide a few entertainers to keep your mind at ease. I personally love each and every podcaster mentioned and listen to them as often as my schedule allows. I hope that everyone is staying safe, healthy and keeping themselves occupied through this difficult time.
Until next time,
Genevieve <3
